Ageing Roofing & Asbestos Across a Busy, Operational Site
Over more than 10 years, R.O. Steel Roofing has completed a range of small and large complex roofing projects across Baiada and Steggles’ active Beresfield production facility. Works have included ageing metal and asbestos roofing, deteriorated structural purlins, restricted access and the need to maintain safe operations within a busy food-production environment.
Solution
Staged Asbestos Removal, Roof & Purlin Replacement Across Multiple Buildings
R.O. Steel Roofing has worked progressively with the site team to plan and deliver asbestos removal, roof replacement, purlin replacement and associated upgrade works across multiple buildings. Depending on the area, works have included removal of existing asbestos or metal roof sheeting, insulation, safety mesh, gutters, flashings, cappings and deteriorated purlins.
New systems have included Zincalume roof sheeting, structural purlins, AUSMESH safety mesh, foil blanket insulation, gutters, flashings and cappings. Access equipment, cranage, material handling and work sequencing have been carefully coordinated for each stage to manage the varied site constraints.
Outcome
Improved Safety, Weather Protection & Reliability Delivered Facility-Wide
The ongoing programme has progressively improved weather protection, structural integrity, safety and long-term reliability across multiple buildings throughout the facility. The long-standing relationship reflects R.O. Steel Roofing’s ability to manage both small and large complex upgrades and replacement projects while working around live production operations.
