Project: Harvey Norman Warehouse Enfield Asbestos Removal & Roof Replacement
Case Study
Harvey Norman
Enfield
Location:
Enfield
Size:
8,100m²
Scope:
Asbestos Removal & Roof Replacement
Challenge
8,100m² Asbestos Strip in a Fixed Shutdown Window
Harvey Norman’s Enfield warehouse required the safe removal and replacement of its existing asbestos roof system across 8,100m². To minimise disruption to warehouse operations, the project was scheduled for the Christmas shutdown period, creating a tightly controlled programme for asbestos removal, material handling and full roof replacement.
Solution
A Complete System Replacement, Materials to Ventilation
R.O. Steel Roofing completed the controlled removal and compliant disposal of asbestos roof sheeting, eaves gutters, insulation, cappings and flashings. All materials were safely lowered into lined bins and transported to an accredited disposal facility.
The replacement system included continuous-length 0.48mm Zincalume Trimdek roof sheeting, R1.3 PerformINS foil blanket insulation, Zincalume eaves gutters, fully welded aluminium box gutters and sumps, 2400gsm opal fibreglass sheeting, and new ridge, barge and apron flashings. Thirty 600mm SV Industrial Vent aluminium ventilators were installed along the ridge to improve ventilation and overall building performance.
Cranage, access equipment and safety systems were coordinated throughout the works.
Outcome
Asbestos-Free, Fully Compliant, Back Online on Schedule
The completed project provided Harvey Norman with a fully compliant, asbestos-free roofing system designed for long-term weather protection, improved insulation, enhanced ventilation and reliable stormwater management. Delivering the works during the shutdown period allowed the facility to resume normal operations with minimal disruption.
