Challenge
Roofing an Occupied Pool Enclosure
The curved roof structure over the ‘Elan’s covered outdoor pool presented a complex access and installation challenge. The project required works to be carried out above an active residential facility while ensuring the safety of residents and maintaining access to building amenities wherever possible. The specialised curved roof design also required a roofing system capable of delivering both durability and high levels of natural light transmission.
Solution
A Custom Access & Curved Roofing System
A comprehensive access strategy was developed, including the design and installation of a complex scaffolding system over the pool area. The existing curved roofing was carefully removed and replaced with a new Danpal architectural polycarbonate system, specifically selected for its performance on curved and arched roof structures. The supporting steel framework was prepared and repainted, restoring the appearance and extending the life of the structure. Works were carefully staged and coordinated to minimise disruption to residents throughout the project.
Outcome
A Modern, High-Performance Facility
The completed project delivered a modern, high-performance roofing solution that significantly improved the appearance and functionality of the pool enclosure. The new Danpal sheeting maximised natural light while providing long-term durability and weather protection.
